November is......

WOOOO HOOOOO

We got word today that no appeal was filed by baby K's Biological parents!!! WOOO HOOOO, God is so Good, now on to the official adoption process. We now wait for the county to schedule our official placement date in our home as an adoptive placement (remember until now she has been a foster placement in the eyes of the law/county), then file the adoption petition.

Happy Halloween from our family to yours!!

October 14 already???

We had a busy last few weeks. Ill try to catch you all up as best as I can in the few minutes I have right now....

The judge granted the TPR meaning baby Ks biological parents rights were terminated earlier this month, they have 30 days to appeal, which we do not anticipate. We are getting closer to forever, but not there yet...still more in the process. We are now waiting for the county she is from to schedule an adoption team meeting and a placement date in our home (all part of the process of adoption in our county no matter if shes been in our home as a foster child or not).

We went to NY to see our family this past long weekend (Th am-Mon am we were there) . We brought some friends with us and they had lots of fun too. I was able to help throw a baby shower for Liz, we went apple picking and had fun at the orchard enjoying the fall fun, getting lost in the hay maze one night, eating more than we should, spending time with Grandparents,Great Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, riding horses, 4-wheelers, boats.....we made lots of family memories that I will cherish forever! Lots more firsts for baby K and even some for Makenna. We enjoyed the crisp cool, humidity free weather we don't see much of in NC...but wow the 30s were COLD in the mornings!

I hope the fall is finding you well! Thank you for all the prayers four our little family! We are still praying as the adoption isn't final until its final! Heres lots of pictures from our trip to enjoy!

Finally here

Well tomorrow is the big court date everyone, so please continue to pray for baby k, the judge, her biological parents and Lawyers tomorrow. Above all we pray that baby Ks best interest is taken into consideration and the judge makes all decisions based on her well being and safety. It will be a very emotionally draining day...for everyone.

Summers end

We had a great time at Myrtle Beach. We enjoyed being lazy in the lazy river, and having our toes in the sand at the beach. The girls both loved the waves and sand. The weather was beautiful and the water was so warm! We even ran into a family from Canada that we have seen there at the same time several years in a row now, its neat seeing familiar faces year after year and seeing how their kids have grown too. We had fun exploring the fun beach stores and famous Broadway at the beach and Barefoot Landing--Makenna, Amber and Kailyn enjoyed spending their own money and making memories together all week.

We ended up having to leave the beach a day early, as Grandma Bowman became suddenly seriously ill and being put in ICU. Danielle's mom needed to go be with her, so we packed up a day early and she flew out three days earlier than planned. God worked out the details and the last day of our vacation was able to be moved to next years trip, and Mom didn't have to pay to change the plane tickets! Grandma Bowman is doing better, and is hopefully on the road to recovery after surgery today finally.

We had a pretty busy yet relaxing unexpected long weekend at home together, at the pool with friends, etc and soaking up the last HOT days of summer. We are finally getting the high 90 degree weather we are used to in NC, too bad its about to be fall and we are ready for cooler weather for soccer games and football!

Makenna has her second soccer game this weekend, and is really enjoying soccer again this season. She is enjoying first grade, and we are all looking forward to her tracking back in next week. She is also enjoying reading and writing. Reading has really opened up so many doors for her, its fun to watch her get faster and more confident.

Baby K is now walking more than she crawls, which is exciting yet sad at the same time. She is into everything and still such a happy, sweet little girl. She recently mastered going up stairs finally (we weren't in a hurry to have that happen in a three story house).

SO thats the end of our summer in a nutshell.....hoping for a great Fall!

BIG court date on the books!!!

Sept 29 we have a HUGE court date in Baby Ks case (9am if you need a time to pray)! Please keep the judge, us and her parents in your prayers! All other court dates have been leading up to this one, and we have been patiently waiting for it to be scheduled.

Were headed to our annual beach trip next week, We cant wait to relax! Grandma and Kailyn/Amber get to come too!!!!! WOOO HOO for family and fun in the sun to end a great summer!

Gotcha Day!!! One year!!!

One year ago today we got THE CALL that a baby girl needed us!!! We were in shock about a baby, not sure we could do it, wanted to do it, etc...but said YES!!! This year has been AMAZING with YOU little princess and our family is complete! We LOVE you to pieces and are so thankful The Lord picked us to take care of you this past year! We are delighted that we should be able to say forever soon...but for now....we will celebrate ONE YEAR with you! We love you "baby K" Happy Gotcha Day!!!!
